Magicard Printer Not Showing Up in Bodno? 8 Fixes for Windows & Mac

Fix a problem·Updated Oct 13, 2026·3 min read

When a Magicard printer will not show up, the printer itself is almost never broken. In our support cases it is nearly always one of these: Bodno is pointed at the wrong copy of the printer, Bodno is out of date, or the driver did not install cleanly. Work from the top; most people are printing again by fix 3.

Quick answer

Update Bodno, then pick the printer that shows as ready under File › Print Settings. Still missing? Remove every Magicard printer from Windows, restart, and reinstall the driver from your printer's support page.

Fix it in this order

1
Check the cable and power

Use the USB cable that came with the printer, plugged straight into the computer, and try a different USB port. Plug the printer into a wall outlet. Turn it on and wait until the screen or light says it is ready.

2
Update Bodno

Install the latest version for Windows or Mac. In several of our cases the printer appeared in Bodno as soon as it was updated.

3
Pick the right printer in Bodno

Windows sometimes adds extra copies, like "Magicard 300 (Copy 1)". Only one of them is connected.

File›Print Settings

Choose the copy that Windows shows as ready, not offline.

4
Unblock the printer in Bodno

If Bodno shows a message like "error enumerating the printer", it has blocked it. Go to:

BOD›Clear Config

Restart Bodno, then pick the printer again in File › Print Settings. More detail: unblock a blocked printer.

5
Remove and re-add the printer in Windows

Unplug the USB cable. Open the printer list:

Settings›Bluetooth & devices›Printers & scanners

(or Control Panel › Devices and Printers). Remove every Magicard printer, restart the computer, turn the printer on and plug the USB cable back in. Windows finds it again.

6
Reinstall the driver cleanly

Unplug the USB cable. Uninstall everything named Magicard (Settings › Apps), then restart. Download the latest driver from your printer's support page (table below), run it, and connect the USB cable only when the installer asks you to. You need administrator rights; if it asks for a password or fails with error 2502, ask your IT team. Old drivers still hanging around? Remove printer drivers on Windows.

7
Stuck on "Printing – Running" or a MAGAPI error

Bodno can find the printer but jobs never leave. Go to:

BOD›Printer Drivers

Scroll right to the PRINT CLASS column, set it to WIN32API, save and restart Bodno. Full guide: MAGAPI error on Magicard printers.

8
Windows test page prints, Bodno prints nothing

Bodno may be connected to a database by accident. Go to Database › Disconnect and print again.

On a Mac

  • Magicard's Mac driver comes in two versions: one for Intel Macs and one for Macs with Apple chips. Check yours under Apple menu › About This Mac and install the matching one.
  • If macOS blocks the installer, go to System Settings › Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.
  • Then pick the printer in Bodno under File › Print Settings. More: Bodno on a Mac.

When to call us

A "print processor does not exist" message, a printer listed under "Other devices" instead of Printers, or a printer that disappears every time it is turned off are not quick fixes. Call us and we will look at it with you.

Questions about this

01 Windows sees my Magicard but Bodno does not. Why?
Usually Bodno is out of date or is set to a different printer. Update Bodno, then pick the printer in File › Print Settings. If Bodno blocked the printer, use BOD › Clear Config first.
02 I see two or three copies of my printer. Which one do I use?
The one Windows shows as ready, not offline. Pick it in File › Print Settings in Bodno, and remove the extra copies in Printers & scanners.
03 Bodno says the printer is offline but the Windows test page prints.
Pick the online copy of the printer in Bodno. If jobs then sit on "Running", set PRINT CLASS to WIN32API under BOD › Printer Drivers.
04 The driver install asks for an administrator password.
Drivers need administrator rights. Sign in with an administrator account or ask your IT team to install it.
05 Should I update the printer firmware?
Only if our support team asks you to. Firmware is rarely the reason a printer is not detected.
06 Where do I download the Magicard driver?
From your printer's support page on bodno.com. Each page has the Windows and Mac driver links.
