Bodno ID Card Software on a Mac: Printers, Drivers and Install Warnings

Bodno software·Updated Oct 13, 2026·2 min read

Bodno ID Card Software has a Mac version, and most of the printers we sell today have Mac drivers. Setup is the same as on Windows, with one extra step: macOS usually asks you to approve the installers. Chromebooks, iPads and phones cannot run it.

Time 15 minDifficulty EasyYou need A Mac, your printer's Mac driver and your activation code
Quick answer

Install your printer's Mac driver first, then Bodno for Mac (drag it to Applications). If macOS blocks either one, go to System Settings › Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. Fargo printers are Windows only.

Install on a Mac

1
Install the printer driver

Download your printer's Mac driver from its support page (table above). For Seaory printers, leave the printer off until the driver finishes installing. Some printers, like the Bodno A10, will not appear on the Mac until this driver is installed.

2
Approve it if macOS blocks it

If you see "Apple could not verify..." or "cannot be opened", go to:

System Settings›Privacy & Security

Scroll down, click Open Anyway and run the installer again.

3
Install Bodno

Download Bodno for Mac, open the file and drag Bodno into Applications. Approve it the same way if macOS asks.

4
Activate

Open Bodno and go to:

BOD›Bodno License›Activation Code

Paste your code, click Activate and restart Bodno. Coming from a Windows PC? Deactivate it there first: moving to a new computer.

Good to know

  • Dual-sided on a Mac: Seaory S28, R330 and R660 print the front only until you turn on Print Back. See dual-sided printing on a Mac.
  • Smart card and NFC encoding is Windows only.
  • Macs with Apple chips (M1 and newer): do not update to macOS 27 yet. Bodno is not supported on Apple-chip Macs running macOS 27. Intel Macs are fine. Call us before any major macOS upgrade.
  • Chromebook, iPad, iPhone, Android: not supported. Bodno and the printer drivers need a Windows PC or a Mac.
