Bodno Prints Nothing, Old Data or No Photo? Check the Database Link

Fix a problem·Updated Oct 20, 2026·2 min read

If Bodno says it printed but no card comes out, or cards print with old names or without photos, the printer is fine. The card design is reading from a database: one with no records, an old copy of your spreadsheet, or photo file names that do not match. Each has a quick fix.

What you see Fix
Bodno sends the job but no card prints. A Windows test page prints fine. The design is linked to a database with no records. Go to Database › Disconnect and print again.
Cards print with old names or details Bodno is reading an older copy of your spreadsheet. Save and close the file in Excel, then refresh the database connection in Bodno.
A photo is missing on some cards The file name in that record does not match the photo file. See photo fixes below.
Photos taken on an iPhone do not show The photos are saved as .HEIC. Convert them to .JPG first.

Fix it step by step

1
Not using a spreadsheet? Disconnect the database

A design that was once linked to a spreadsheet, or a template that came with one, can still be connected. Go to:

Database›Disconnect

Print again. This fixes most "Bodno prints nothing" cases in a minute.

2
Using a spreadsheet? Make sure it has the records

Open the spreadsheet and check the names you want are in it, on the sheet Bodno is connected to. Save it, close Excel, then refresh the database connection in Bodno. First time connecting one? See connect to an Excel database.

3
Moved or renamed the file?

If the spreadsheet was moved, renamed or copied to a new computer, Bodno is still pointed at the old one. Connect the design to the file again.

4
Fix missing photos

Keep every photo in one folder, and type the photo's exact file name in each record, including the extension: jsmith.jpg is not the same as jsmith.jpeg or j smith.jpg. Then refresh the database connection. Full setup: link photos to your database.

5
Convert iPhone photos to JPG

iPhones save photos as .HEIC by default. Convert them to .JPG before linking them. To make new iPhone photos save as JPG, open Settings › Camera › Formats on the iPhone and choose Most Compatible.

Which edition do I need?

Printing a list from Excel and linking photos to records needs Silver edition or higher. Compare editions or upgrade from there.
