The test card (Seaory calls it the Print Test Chart) prints straight from the driver: no Bodno software, no design file. It confirms the printer, ribbon and driver are all talking, and its L and T scales tell you whether the print is aligned to the card edge.
Windows: Printing preferences → Tool → Position Calibrate → Print Test Chart. Mac: Printer Utility → Print position calibration → Print Chart.
Before you start
- At least one blank card in the input hopper, with the counterweight card on top of the stack.
- Ribbon installed, cover closed, printer on and connected (USB or network).
- You do not need Bodno software open. The test card is a driver function.
On Windows
A small window called Print Position Calibrate Tool opens. It shows the L, T and S values (all 0 on a new printer).
The printer feeds a card and prints the chart. It uses one print from the ribbon, like any other card. Click Exit when it is done.

A full chart with the L and T scales along the short edges means printer, ribbon and driver are all working. What the scales mean is covered below.
On Mac
Different window, same button. The Mac driver puts its tools in the Printer Utility.
The same L, T and S values are shown. Leave them alone for now.

Same chart, same meaning.
What the test chart tells you
The chart prints a ruler at each short edge of the card, with an arrow at 0. L is the edge where printing starts, T is the edge where it ends. On a correctly aligned printer both 0 arrows sit exactly at the card edge. If there is a gap between a 0 line and the edge, the print image is offset in that direction, and you will see it as a white edge on real cards.
That is what the L and T values are for. White Edge on the Short Side of the Card walks through reading the chart and moving the value safely.
If the test card does not print
| What you see | Do this |
|---|---|
| Card does not feed | Fan the blank cards, reload, and make sure the counterweight card is on top of the stack. |
| Ribbon error on screen | Code 48: calibrate the ribbon LED. Code 45: ribbon missing guide. |
| Printer offline or not found | USB: plug straight into the computer, not a hub. Network: check the network setup. |
| Blank card comes out | The ribbon is not engaged. Reseat the cartridge, close the cover firmly, calibrate the ribbon LED, try again. |
