Printing on both sides takes two things: the printer driver set to two-sided, and a card design with a back in Bodno. When the front and back come out on two separate cards, or the back prints only in black, one of those two settings is off.
Magicard: Printing preferences › Duplex printing: Both sides, then Card Back › Colour Format to color, Apply, and restart Bodno. Matica: Printer properties › Tools › Activate Duplex printing, restart the printer, then set the driver to print both sides. In Bodno, make sure the card has a back design.
First, can your printer print both sides?
| Printer | How to tell |
|---|---|
| Magicard 300, 400X, 600, D | The screen shows DUO after start-up. No DUO means a one-sided model; error 22 means two-sided printing is not turned on |
| Matica MC320X | Two-sided printing is activated with the duplex kit (an activation card); see the Matica steps below |
| Bodno A10, A20 · Magicard 250X, Pronto · Seaory S25, S26 | One-sided printers. They print the front only |
Magicard 300, 400X, 600 and D
Go to Settings › Bluetooth & devices › Printers & scanners (or Control Panel › Devices and Printers), click your Magicard and open Printing preferences.
Set Duplex printing to Both sides.
Click Card Back in the left column and set Colour Format to the color option (Colour, Resin Black YMCK). Leave it on black if you only want black text on the back.
Click Apply and OK, then close and reopen Bodno so it picks up the new settings.

Open the printer's properties and go to:
Follow the wizard with the activation card from the duplex kit. Lost the kit? Call us.
Turn it off and on again.
In Printing preferences, choose to print on both sides. If you do not see that option, call us: some driver versions hide it, and we will check yours.
In Bodno: give the card a back
Bodno prints a back side only if the design has one. Switch to the back of the card in the design area, add what you want there (a barcode, rules, an emergency contact), and save. If the back is empty, nothing prints on it. Each design layer can be set to print on the front, the back or both.
When it still is not right
| What you see | Fix |
|---|---|
| Front and back on two separate cards | Two-sided printing is off in the driver. Turn it on (steps above) |
| Back prints only black or gray | Magicard: Card Back › Colour Format to color |
| Two-sided option greyed out or stuck on front only | Turn the printer off, delete every Magicard printer in Printers & scanners, restart the computer, turn the printer on and wait for Windows to add it |
| Back prints upside down | Rotate the back design 180 degrees in Bodno |
| Matica error 9 on a one-sided job | Untick the back-side option for one-sided jobs |
