Retransfer printers don't need one. The image prints onto clear film first, then the film is bonded to the card — the film itself is the protective layer. That's what gives you true edge-to-edge printing with no white border, and clean results on smart cards and proximity cards whose uneven surfaces defeat direct-to-card printers.
The bundle pairs the roll with a matching 500 CR80 blank cards. Still running an HDP5000? The current-generation replacement is the HDP5000e.
500 single-sided cards per ribbon. If you print on both sides of a card, each card uses two prints, so one ribbon makes 250 two-sided cards.
For 500 cards you need 1 ribbon, and for 1,000 cards you need 2, printing on one side. Use the calculator above for your exact number.
It fits the Fargo HDP5000. Not sure which printer you have? Email sales@bodno.com and we’ll confirm it before you order.
These are ribbon codes showing the print panels:
YMCKO is for single-sided color printing.
YMCKOK adds a second black panel for printing on the back.
Some ribbons are just K—used for black-only printing.
Only for retransfer printers, such as the Fargo HDP5000, HDP5000e and HDP6600 and the Seaory R330 and R660. They print onto a clear film and then fuse it onto the card, so they need both a ribbon and a film.
Unopened ribbons can last 18–24 months when stored properly. Keep them sealed in original packaging, in a cool, dry place away from sunlight or humidity to preserve print quality.
