Seaory Printer Won't Turn On or Keeps Restarting (S25, S26, S28, R330, R660)

Seaory support · Power

Updated October 8, 2026

A Seaory printer that will not turn on, or that boots to Ready and then restarts again, is far more often a power adapter problem than a printer problem. In our support records, most of these cases ended with a new adapter, and the printer was fine. Here is how to tell in two minutes, before you ship anything anywhere.

Quick answer

Plug the adapter straight into a wall outlet and look at the light on the adapter. Light off: the adapter or the outlet. Light dims or blinks when the printer restarts: the adapter is failing, and we will replace it. Light steady but the printer is dead: contact us with a short video. Only ever use the adapter that came with the printer.

Check it in this order

1
Plug straight into the wall

Take the power strip, surge protector or UPS out of the loop and plug the adapter directly into a wall outlet you know works. Push both ends of the cable in firmly: the plug into the adapter and the small connector into the back of the printer.

2
Look at the light on the power adapter

The adapter brick has its own small light.

  • Off on an outlet that works: the adapter has failed. Contact us for a replacement.
  • On and steady: the adapter is getting power. Go to step 3.
3
If the printer keeps restarting, watch the adapter light while it does

This is the classic R660 and R330 pattern: the screen shows Initializing, reaches Ready, goes dark and starts again. If the adapter light dims or blinks at the moment the printer restarts, the adapter cannot hold the load when the printer warms up. A new adapter fixes it. Take a short phone video showing the adapter light and the printer screen together, and send it to us.

4
Make sure it is the original adapter

Adapters from laptops, other printers or a spare drawer often fit the same plug but do not supply the voltage the printer needs. The printer may power on and look normal, then jam, fail mid-print or restart. Check the label on the adapter against the label on the printer. If you are not sure, send us a photo of the adapter label.

5
Adapter fine, printer still dead? Stop there

If the adapter light is steady and the printer shows nothing at all, do not open the printer. Send us a video of you pressing the power button with the adapter light in the shot, plus the serial number, and we will take it from there.

What you see, and what it means

What you see Most likely cause Next step
Nothing at all, adapter light off Failed adapter or dead outlet Try another wall outlet, then contact us
Restarts over and over, adapter light dims or blinks Adapter failing under load Contact us for a replacement adapter
Powers on but jams or fails mid-print, using a different adapter Wrong adapter, not enough voltage Switch back to the original adapter
Nothing at all, adapter light steady Printer side Send a video and the serial number
Error 31 on the screen while using a different adapter Not enough power for the printhead mechanism Switch back to the original adapter
White screen with a red light Display or internal connection Contact us. Do not open the printer
A humming or buzzing adapter

Some adapters hum or whine quietly while working. If the printer runs normally, Seaory's guidance is that this can be ignored. If the noise bothers you, contact us and we will look at replacing it.

Still stuck?

Send these with your first message and we can skip a round

Most support cases take an extra day only because we have to ask for these. Attach them up front and we can usually give you the next step the same day.

  • Printer model and serial number (label on the back of the printer)
  • A photo of the label on the power adapter
  • A short phone video showing the adapter light and the printer screen together while it fails or restarts
  • Whether the adapter has been replaced before, and when

FAQ

01 My power adapter hums. Is it safe?
If the printer works normally, a quiet hum can be ignored. If it bothers you, contact us about a replacement.
02 Can I use a different adapter with the same plug?
No. Use only the adapter that came with the printer. Others can fit and still not supply enough power, which causes jams and restarts.
03 My R660 restarts again after the adapter was already replaced.
Send us a short video of the adapter light and the screen while it restarts, plus the date of the last replacement. We will take it from there.
04 Can I plug it into a surge protector?
For troubleshooting, plug straight into a wall outlet so the power strip is ruled out.
