Common questions

What size hole or slot do these punches make?
  • Handheld slot punch: 0.125" × 0.5" oval slot
  • 3-in-1 punch: ¼" round hole, 0.125" × 0.5625" slot and a corner rounder
  • Table-top punch: 0.125" × 0.5625" slot

Both slot sizes fit standard strap clips, lanyard hooks and badge reels.

Can I punch vertical and horizontal slots?

Yes. All Bodno slot punches support both orientations, and adjustable guides line the card up so every slot lands in the same place.

Which punch should I choose?
  • Handheld: fine for small batches and easy to keep in a drawer.
  • 3-in-1: pick it if you also want a round hole for clips and rounded corners.
  • Table-top: best for higher volume and thicker cards, up to 60 mil.
Should I punch before or after printing?

After. Print the card first, then punch it. Printers need a flat, unpunched card to feed and print correctly.

How many cards can I punch at once?

These are single-card punches. For best results, punch one PVC card at a time.

What types of cards are compatible?

All three punches work with standard CR80 PVC, laminated, smart and proximity cards. The table-top punch handles cards up to 60 mil thick.

On proximity and smart cards, punch only where the card’s slot-punch guide is marked, so you don’t cut the antenna inside.
