Ribbon

ID Card Printer Questions, Answered

What is the difference between a one-sided and a two-sided ID card printer?+
A one-sided printer prints the front of the card only: photo, name and ID number. A two-sided printer prints the front and back in one pass, so a barcode, rules or emergency contacts go on the back automatically. If you are not sure, choose two-sided. The Magicard 400X and Matica MC320X can be ordered either way.
Which ID card printer is best for a small office?+
For a few badges a month, the Bodno A10 or the compact Magicard 250X is plenty. If you print every week, or want information on the back of the card, step up to the Bodno A30 or the Magicard 400X.
Do I need a retransfer printer?+
Only in three cases: you print on proximity, chip or RFID cards; you print on cards you already have; or you want a premium, edge-to-edge look. For standard white plastic cards, a regular direct-to-card printer is the right choice and costs less.
What comes in the box?+
A complete kit: the printer, Bodno ID Card Software, a color ribbon, blank cards and a photo ID camera. Each product page lists exactly what its package includes. Software activation codes arrive by email within 15 minutes.
Is the software included, and does it work on a Mac?+
Yes. Every printer includes Bodno ID Card Software for Windows and Mac. Our top picks come with a lifetime license, for the life of the printer, and you can move it to a new computer. Other printers include a 3-year license you can renew. You can also try the software free, with no time limit; prints carry a watermark until you activate.
Can we pay with a purchase order or Net 30?+
Yes. Email your purchase order to sales@bodno.com and we process the order for you. Net 30 is available for approved business accounts. We also accept checks from qualified organizations (allow about 7 business days to clear), ACH and wire. You can download our W-9 for your vendor setup.
We are tax-exempt. How do we order without paying tax?+
Email your exemption form to Tax@Bodno.com once, before your first order, with your organization's name and the email addresses you order with. After that, every order checks out tax-free automatically, online or by purchase order. See how it works.
How fast will my printer arrive?+
Order by 1 PM and most printers ship the same day; they arrive in 1 to 3 business days. Shipping is free on orders over $100 to all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
What happens if my printer stops working?+
Every printer comes with manufacturer coverage: 3 years on most models, 4 years on the Magicard 400X, and 5 years of TotalCare on the Bodno A40 Pro. If a top pick fails under coverage, we send a replacement the next day, or repair it if you prefer. Returns are free within 30 days, with no restocking fee.
