Complete this during every new Bodno A-Series printer setup: after you install the printer driver and connect the printer to your computer, update the printer to the latest firmware before you print production cards.
This guide is for Bodno A-Series printers only. Use the firmware package for your exact model. Firmware made for any other printer will not work.
Before you begin
- Install the driver for your exact Bodno A-Series model.
- Power on the printer and connect it directly to your computer by USB or through its configured network connection.
- Confirm that the printer is detected and ready before opening the firmware updater.
- Pause all print jobs and keep the printer powered on throughout the update.
Step 1: Download the correct Bodno A-Series firmware
Open Bodno Printer Support, select Bodno A-Series, then select the exact model printed on your printer label: A10, A20, A30, or A40 Pro.
Download only the firmware package shown for that exact model. If the model on the support page does not match your printer label, stop and select the correct printer before you download anything.
Step 2: Update firmware on Windows
- Download the latest firmware package for your exact Bodno A-Series model from Bodno Printer Support.
- Confirm the printer is powered on, connected, and not processing a print job.
- Open the firmware update tool included with the Bodno A-Series package for your model.
- Select the connected printer if the tool asks you to do so.
- Start the firmware update and wait for the tool to confirm it has completed.
- Restart the printer if prompted, then print one test card.
Step 3: Update firmware on Mac
- Download the latest firmware package for your exact Bodno A-Series model from Bodno Printer Support.
- Unzip the downloaded package.
- Power on the printer and connect it to your Mac.
- Open the firmware update application included with the package. If macOS blocks the app, right-click it and select Open.
- Start the firmware update and leave the printer connected until the tool confirms it has completed.
- Restart the printer if prompted, then print one test card.
Important: do not interrupt the update
Do not turn off the printer, disconnect USB or network, close the update tool, or send print jobs while firmware is updating. An interruption can leave the printer unable to complete its startup process.
Why update firmware during initial setup?
Firmware is the printer’s internal operating software. Updating it during setup helps ensure that your new Bodno A-Series printer starts with the latest available fixes and works correctly with its driver. Make it part of the standard checklist: driver installed, printer connected, latest Bodno A-Series firmware applied, test card printed.
One last thing
Always confirm the printer label before downloading. A10, A20, A30, and A40 Pro firmware packages are model-specific. If you are not sure which model you have, contact us before you update.
Download it, activate it, or add another license. Activation codes arrive by email in 15 minutes.
